Linda Ramsbottom
In this role, Linda supports the development and implementation of Department of Education policy regarding curriculum, assessment, and teacher professional learning. She also conducts a programme of evaluation and advisory visits to schools.
Linda is the Department of Education’s nominee on the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment’s Board for Junior Cycle and has been directly involved in the development of new subject specifications at both Junior Cycle and Senior Cycle.
She co-ordinates Inspectorate work on the design and quality assurance of professional learning materials and events for Oide, the support service for teachers and school leaders.
Linda chairs the Educational Research Centre’s (ERC) National Advisory Committees for TIMSS and PISA. She has presented to European policy makers on issues relating to the performance of students in Ireland in PISA 2022.
Prior to joining the inspectorate, Linda was a secondary teacher of Mathematics and IT. She also has experience of teaching in New Zealand.
