Maria McGrath

Maria McGrath is a Primary Divisional inspector at the Department of Education.

In this role, Maria conducts a programme of evaluation and advisory visits to primary and special schools. She also works in the Curriculum and Assessment policy unit of the Inspectorate and supports the development and implementation of Department of Education policy regarding curriculum, assessment, and teacher professional learning. 

Maria is the Department of Education’s nominee on the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NCCA) Board for Early Years and Primary and is also a member of the NCCA development group for the new Modern Foreign Language specification which will be incorporated into the Primary Curriculum. 

Prior to joining the inspectorate, Maria worked as a primary school teacher in both English and Irish-medium schools and also worked as a facilitator with the School Development Planning Service.
