Patrick Kelly

Pat Kelly is a Senior Technical Officer with the Planning and Building Unit and has worked for the Department of Education for over 28 years supporting the delivery of the Capital Building Programme.

For the past five years Pat has played a key role in the implementation of the Department of Education’s Geographical Information System (GIS) as part of a broader DoE Reform Programme. Through the Geographical and Information management capabilities of GIS software a comprehensive digital transformation has been delivered across the Planning and Building Unit which supports enhanced strategic planning in forecasting school place demand and better building infrastructure, planning and delivery. The national roll out of Solar PV Installations and School Energy Assessments at every school in the country are examples of the work supported by solutions developed on the GIS platform.

Pat also works on the School Start-up and Interim Accommodation Programme, the Emergency Works Scheme and the Summer Works Scheme where his primary role is to offer technical advice and support in the management and delivery of these programmes.
